Cone Beam 3D Imaging
A cone beam CT creates a 3D view and cross sections of the target area. The information this technology provides is critical for a number of situations, including placing dental implants, performing a complex root canal or extraction, or searching for the source of pain or infection. We use it to give us the best possible diagnostics for our orthodontic and oral surgery patients.
Digital X-rays
Using digital X-rays allows us to take detailed pictures of your jaw and bone structure with less radiation than the traditional X-ray. This alleviates safety concerns associated with X-rays for both patients and staff while still rendering excellent images.
Intraoral Camera Technology
An intraoral camera is a small, pen-like device with a camera on the end. The camera contains a bright LED which helps us diagnose cavities or fractures that are difficult to see with the naked eye.
iTero Scanner
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we can now get all the information we need to plan your orthodontic treatment with a quick scan of the inside of your mouth, no dental impressions required. Plaster molds were less effective than the intraoral scanner for several reasons:
- Shipping those molds to a laboratory took valuable time.
- Storing those molds for later reference was troublesome.
- Patients with sensitive gag reflexes were very uncomfortable.
The iTero Scanner solves all of those problems. We are able to gather more accurate information about the shapes/positions of your teeth than a traditional mold can, and eliminate the gag-inducing process at the same time.
The intraoral scanner is a wand that uses a light source to map the inside of your mouth. It is sensitive enough to show the finer details that were sometimes missed with traditional molds. We are able to view the digital models of your mouth immediately and store them for future reference. This device enables us to focus on your overall care with accuracy and efficiency.
Oral Cancer Detection
Oral cancer is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that can affect any part of the mouth or throat. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical for improving outcomes and reducing the risk of complications.
Ultrasonics
Ultrasonics are instruments that use sonic energy to clean away debris. These instruments have smaller tips that allow us to remove tartar from around and between teeth and beneath the gumline with greater precision, giving patients better results.
Teeth Whitening Trays
Done in a professional dental setting, this is a safe, effective way to brighten your smile. Depending on the whitening method you choose, results can be dramatic: in-office whitening, for example, can lighten teeth three to eight shades in a single hour.
Philips Sonicare Toothbrush
This toothbrush breaks down plaque using sonic wave technology to vibrate as many as 30,000 cycles per minute. We particularly recommend these brushes for patients with gum recession or sensitive gums because they are so gentle on the gum tissue.
