Tooth Abscesses Should be Taken Very Seriously and Require Immediate Treatment.

Tooth Abscess Symptoms:

  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Fever
  • Pain ranging from mild to severe

Abscesses are usually caused by bacterial tooth infection and rarely get better on their own and home remedies for tooth infections are usually ineffective. Left untreated, abscesses can affect adjacent teeth, surrounding gums, the jaw and facial bones, and even spread infection to other areas of your body.

Call our office today and ask for an Emergency Consultation because you think you have an abscess.

You may swish and spit with a lukewarm saline solution to ease pain until you can make it in.

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Mix the salt and water until salt is dissolved. Optional – Boil the salt water solution for 10 minutes and cool to room temperature before use. Boiling the solution will sterilize it and minimize the risk of introducing new bacteria to the irritated area.
